Are you online business owners? How many emails you receive on an average from SEO companies or people in a month? Is it over 10, 20 or 30? You know, sometimes I feel sad for you as I know that business owners get swamped with emails and calls from SEO people striving to convince them that they require their “self claimed best” SEO services and they can provide something that no other company or person could do!
According to brightlocal 2014 SMB internet marketing survey, they found that 35 percent of SMBs are reached every day by an Search Engine Optimization (SEO) selling their services, and another 22 percent are called every week!
As you receive too many calls and emails from too many SEO companies, I know it’s hard for you to choose the right one for your business! Well, yesterday one of our valuable clients received similar email from an amature (fake) SEO guy and I will give you some screenshots and details so you can understand how they normally pitch to businesses and how they try to convince to get their services!
In the following, I will mark my comments in red thereby you can understand my comments and actual scenario.
First name: Jackson (Fake person using fake name! Find out below)
Email: I am not disclosing this for privacy reason
Mobile: 983015XXXX (last 4 number is hidden due to privacy reason)
Location: Kolkata (Fake location)
Message: Hello,How are you? Hope you remember me. (My client doesn’t know this guy!)
I have been checking your website quite often. It has seen that the main keywords are still not in top 10 rank. You know things of working; I mean the procedure of working has changed a lot.
So I would like to have opportunity to work for you and this time we will bring the keywords to the top 10 spot with guaranteed period. (Guaranteed period, this is a fake promise. They can provide a possible estimate)
There is no wondering that it is possible now cause, I have found out that there are few things need to be done for better performances (Some we Discuss, in this email). Let me tell you some of them –
1. Title Tag Optimization
2. Meta Tag Optimization (Description, keyword and etc)
3. Heading Tags Optimization
4. Targeted keywords are not placed into tags
5. Alt / Image tags Optimization
6. Google Publisher is missing
7. Custom 404 Page is missing
8. The Products are not following structured markup data
9. Word-Press is not installed properly, in the blogs
10. Website Speed Development (Both Mobile and Desktop)
Please check via Google Developer –
https://developers.google.com/speed/pagespeed/
11. Favicon needs to be changed too.
12. Off –Page SEO work
(A new SEO guy can do all these things. There is nothing new)
Lots are pending……………..You can see these are the things that need to be done properly to make the keywords others to get into the top 10 spot in Google Search & your sales Increase.
Also there is one more thing to mention that you did thousands of links that time for your website, which are considered as spam after Google roll outs several updates of Panda and penguin. We need to remove them too. (My Goodness! Really? My client never got any service from these people and they are telling this bullshit!!)
Sir, please give us a chance to fix these errors and we will give you rank on these keywords. (Let’s assume my client got service from these guys but it seems they messed up the site and rankings at the first time and now they are begging for betterment and new rankings. If I were the client I would be 100 miles away from these people!)
Please let me know if you encounter any problems or if there is anything you need (You identified many anonymous problems and you are saying from the beginning that you can fix all these things and now you are asking “if you encounter any problems?”). If this email has reached you by mistake (by mistake 🙂 !) or if you do not wish to take advantage of this free advertising (free really?) opportunity, please accept my apology for any inconvenience caused and rest assured that you will not be contacted again.
Many thanks for your time and consideration,
Looking forward
Regards
Jackson

Here is the reply I sent to that person after reading his email very carefully:
Hello,
We are SEO Service Provider. We manage (client) website i.e. SEO, Google Adwords, etc. SEO is not our primary concern now. We are concerned to get more leads and sales through other medium. The method you are using to grab new clients is old. If you are confident that you can certainly rank some keywords then let me know your strategy to rank keywords at present days in details. If your strategies match with ours we might contact you in future.
You should start by running spell check before you publish a post if you want to build some credibility. “Amature” isn’t a word….
What is it then Bella? An adult term?
