How to Add A Place Name on Pinterest

In this tutorial I am going to show you how you can add a place name on Pinterest board images. Hope you will enjoy this post.

To add a place name on an image:

1. First you need to Sign in to your Pinterest account

2. Go to the board you wish to add placement information for a particular image or group of images.

3. Mouse over to an image and then click on Edit option (Pencil icon)

4. Make sure you have selected correct board for that image you are editing.

5. Include SEO friendly description with proper hash tags. Description field is important. Consider your target market and audience first before adding any description with hash tags. Use hash tags that your target audience will search on Pinterest. Provide brief information instead of long description.

6. Include your website or blog URL. This one is also important. When people see your image, they will also see a “visit site” button at the bottom part. If they click on that button, they will be redirected to your website or blog. In this way, you can generate traffic from Pinterest

7. This one is tricky. A location might be already included inside Pinterest database, however, sometimes it’s awkward that when you type the name of a place, it will not simply appear!For your information, Pinterest pulls place information from Foursquare.

   So, if you want to add your business name as a “Place“, your business should be listed on Foursqure. Foursquare takes $20 for business listing (not sure about now, but I have listed SEO Service Provider long time ago there for $20).

   Therefore, if you type a name and it doesn’t show up and you certainly know that the business is listed on Foursquare then to overcome this situation leave “Place” field blank and hit the save button!

8. Now click on “Add a Place“. A new window will appear at the left portion. There you will see search box for placement. Now start typing your place name slowly. Eventually the correct place will appear though it was not appearing at the first time when we were editing “place field” within the image section.

9. Click on save.

and you are done!

Now you can see that your place name has correctly included for that image.
