Hello everyone, this is Ekhlas from SEO-Service-Provider. In this tutorial I’m going to share something very interesting about Facebook. The following is my Facebook Ad campaign account. As you can see, Facebook gives me a notification that I have one ad in this campaign which is not reaching its audience because it’s not approved. It’s saying “too much text in image” but I’ll show you that in this image I did not use any text and after that I will give you some suggestions and helpful tips to solve too much text in image Facebook problem.
I have two ad sets as you can see and for each ad set I have one ad/two ads. So let’s check AU-18+ ad set first.
Let’s check the ad copy of this ad set. This ad is not delivering because there is a message from Facebook that it’s containing “too much text in image“.
But let me show you if this is containing too much text in image.
Okay. “Without SEO, your website value is zero” – This in not text because I have saved this as .png from my Photoshop psd file and this is basically an image. I mean the text you are seeing in this image is actually an image not text. It was approved first but now it’s not approved and I believe it’s marked as disapproved by mistake.
Let me show you my another Ad set’s ad copy. “AU – M – 25-60″ is another Ad set under my campaign and I have basically two ad copies in this Ad set.
So let me show you first one.
I don’t have any text in this image. Right? I mean I have added my website’s logo in this image and there is no text but it’s not approved. It’s containing “too much text in image” message in Facebook ads manager. If I go to other Ad, you can also see it’s not delivering because of too much text message from Facebook.
But there is absolutely no text in this image, just my logo and a picture. How to fix these errors? I mean I have nothing to do with these images. No edit is required. All images are fine!
Therefore, I searched in Google and found some helpful topics. It seems this is not just me, lots of members from different regions are actually facing the same issue.

A guy named “Damien Barber” reported the same problem that I am having. Nadia from Facebook help team replied to his concern.
For your information, Facebook has a policy of 20% text within the image and they will allow up to 20% text within an image. If you have more than 20% text then your image will be disapproved by the Facebook team. For this reason, if you have text in your image I would suggest to reduce the text and from my experience it would be good for your campaign if your image doesn’t have any text at all!
Going back to the point. Here is what Nadia said to Damien:
Hello Damien,
All ads cannot contain more than 20% text within the image. This link will provide you with some tips on how to make sure your ad is within our guidelines: https://www.facebook.com/business/help/980593475366490/?ref=u2u
If you believe that your ad was disapproved by mistake, I recommend submitting a request to have this looked into through this link: https://www.intern.facebook.com/business/help/1210227555661027/?ref=u2u
Now let me show you all the methods to solve “Too Much Text in Image” problem on Facebook.
Facebook: Too Much Text In Image – How to Solve
Method 1:
Okay it is now confirmed that our ad was disapproved by mistake. Let’s open this link:
https://www.intern.facebook.com/business/help/1210227555661027/?ref=u2u
You will see something like this:
You need to click on “this form” and it will open “Appeal a disapproved” Ad form. Just make sure you are logged in to your Facebook ad manager and click on “I’m referring to this ad” radio button and tick the box “I understand that if my Ad is approved on appeal, it will be made active and may start delivering right away”.
After that you can describe your problem in details. I mean provide your Facebook account id, campaign name, ad set name and if you could give them the ad name that will be great for them. You just need to fill in all the information in the “Describe Your Problem” box. At last, you can just click on “send” button.
The review team will check your existing images and if they feel your images are good to go then they will re-activate them.
Method 2: (It might not work at your end)
Here is another thing you can do. Change the status of your campaign. You can just pause your current campaign and then re-activate it. If it works your ads will be reviewed by the team of Facebook. If your images are fine, Facebook team will approve them to run again. But if this method doesn’t work at your end then you need to follow either Method 1 or Method 3.
Method 3: (My secret method which works)
Open your disapproved ad(s) with the “Edit Ad” option. Just write something in either Text, Headline or News Feed Link Description box and then delete it! It will make “Save and Close” button live!
Just click on “Save and Close” button and Facebook review team will review your ad(s) and reactivate them if they follow all the guidelines.
This method is the quickest and most effective. You can try it to solve “too much text in image” problem.
