Trust me, I recently faced this issue. I was very worried, angry, frustrated when it happened to me. Yes, Facebook did flag my personal as well as business account for policy violation. They also suspended my credit card. I had no option to run any ads in Facebook. I still don’t know the exact reason but now I know how to solve “Account Flagged for Policy Violation” issue.
I have written a 3 part series about “account flagged for policy violation issue”. You can check them here:
Your Ad Account has been Flagged for Policy Violations
Your Ad Account has been Flagged for Policy Violations – Part 2
Your Ad Account has been Flagged for Policy Violations – Part 3
If you are a victim, if Facebook flagged your account for unknown reason and if you are looking to solve the problem, you should read above articles I wrote. I admit that, everything I wrote in these articles is true. I didn’t fake anything. I provided every statement that I received from Facebook’s representative. I included every statement of mine that I sent to Facebook. After one month of battle (yes, it was a battle for me!), I am finally feeling really relieved. I now know what to do to avoid account flagged for policy violation issue.
Many of my subscribers unsubscribed from my newsletter after I publish the series. I don’t know why! May be they felt it boring. May be they didn’t face “account flagged for policy violation” issue yet. May be they didn’t enjoy reading the series. May be my writing style is not up to that standard.
Still I am writing this as I know there are many people out there who faced or still facing “account flagged for policy violation” issue in Facebook. I know there are many people absolutely blindfolded and wondering why their account is flagged at the first place!
If you didn’t do anything wrong, if you followed every guideline, if you didn’t place mislead ads in Facebook, if you are a victim like me, here is the solution for you!
How to Solve “Account Flagged for Policy Violation” Issue in Facebook?
Let’s assume, you have two Facebook accounts. One is personal and other one is for work. I am giving a name to each of your account. Let’s say “Account A” for personal Facebook account and let’s say “Account B” for other work account. Just remember the account names, it will help you to understand the steps I have written below.
1) If you have multiple Facebook accounts (“Account A” and “Account B”), try to remember the first ad account where you have added your first credit card. Is this “Account A” or “Account B”? Which account flagged first? Did you use same credit card in both accounts? It’s not a crime to add same credit card in multiple Facebook accounts neither it’s disallowed by Facebook but try to avoid adding same card in multiple Facebook accounts.
I found most of the “Account Flagged for Policy Violation” issue occurred due to having same credit card in multiple accounts.
If you have two Facebook accounts and two credit cards then add one card in “Account A” and other one in “Account B”. You don’t need to set “Account B” credit card in “Account A” as secondary payment method or “Account A” credit card in “Account B” as secondary payment method. Before running ads, make sure each of the card has sufficient balance. If both of your cards have balance why bother adding one another as secondary payment?
If you have two Facebook accounts but one credit card (I have two Facebook accounts but one credit card), then run ads from the first account (“Account A”) where you have added the credit card details first. Don’t run ads from second account (“Account B”) though you are the manager or admin of that account’s Facebook page(s). Stick with first account (“Account A”). Run everything from the first account (“Account A”) if you have one credit card. If you have already added the card in another account, delete it now from the payment method!
2) Try to find out the currency you have set when you created your Facebook accounts. Suppose, “Account A” currency is set to USD and “Account B” currency is set to GBP. I found in many cases “Account Flagged for Policy Violation” issue occurred when we are trying to change the default currency by deleting one of the ad account. It’s foolish! You don’t need to delete your ad account just to change the currency. Ask yourself first, why do you want to change the default currency? Is this because of your Facebook shop page? If you want to change the Facebook shop currency, follow step 3.
If you are trying to change the currency of your Facebook ad account, my suggestion is, don’t try to change default currency at all! Your credit card company can convert the amount that you owe to Facebook. Relax! I am using my Payoneer mastercard account to run Facebook ads. One of my Shop page currency is set to “BDT” and my Facebook account default currency is set to “USD”. My Payoneer Mastercard currency is set to USD. Facebook charges my mastercard in BDT and Payoneer converts the BDT to USD and release the amount to Facebook. Too much complex scenario? If you need any help on this please feel free to reach me through : info@seo-service-provider.org
If you really want to change the currency then here you can find all the steps: Things to keep in mind about changing your currency
3) Suppose, “Account A” currency is set to USD and “Account B” currency is set to GBP. If you have a Facebook shop page in “Account A”, it’s currency will be by default set to USD and if you have a Facebook shop page in “Account B”, it’s currency will be by default set to GBP. Don’t delete any of your Facebook ad account to change the default currency of your Facebook shop page. If you create a new Facebook page and want to change the currency of the shop, then just delete the shop first. Please note, if you have any items in the shop, those will be deleted too. I am assuming your shop is empty. If you delete the shop and create a new shop, you will get an option to change the shop currency.
Again I am saying, don’t delete your ad account if you want to change the shop currency. That’s foolish!
4) If you know you didn’t do anything wrong and Facebook flagged your account for policy violations, then you have the right to ask! Don’t stop trying to contact them. They don’t have phone or live help support for their users but you can contact Facebook via “Advertiser Support” section. Check the image below. Or you can directly visit this link: https://www.facebook.com/help/contact/766321470101104/?ref=u2u
In the message, give your opinion and tell them you didn’t do anything wrong and you believe it’s a mistake and ask them to investigate to find out the actual reason. They might give you generic reply through email that you can find in my series but ask them particular reason.
If you follow above steps, I believe you can solve “Account Flagged for Policy Violation” issue. I am following these steps and I am not having any issue at all! If Facebook flagged your account for policy violation, and you got your account back with my suggestions, please feel free to share your experience with us through comments! Thanks a lot for your participation!
