Last time, I told you how Facebook sucks when it comes to getting support from them. If you didn’t read my previous post you should read that post before reading this post. Here you can see my last post – Your Ad Account has been Flagged for Policy Violations
Okay, last time this was my final message to Facebook:
Hello Sara!!!!
I can’t believe it’s been 9 days and I didn’t get any reply from you or Facebook? What is happening with Facebook? Why are they providing such shitty service recently? I thought Facebook is a great platform for new entrepreneurs but it seems I am totally wrong. Why the hell you guys are not fixing my problem? I am demanding an answer from you. Don’t avoid my question
I need to mention, previous email was sent on November 20th, 2016. I didn’t hear any feedback from Facebook support team until November 28th, 2016.
On November 28th, 2016, I received this email from Sara:
Hi Jewel,
Thank you for your patience in waiting for this reply,
Sorry that I haven’t been able to respond to your email as I was on leave for the past weeks.I have learned that your account has been disabled for not following Facebook’s Advertising Guidelines.
Ad accounts are evaluated for policy compliance and quality of ad content. When accounts have run ads that are not policy compliant, they are disabled.
Your account was disabled for running misleading ads that resulted in high negative feedback from people on Facebook.
Our goal is to provide the highest quality user experience. We reserve the right to reject any advertising that we deem contrary to these objectives.
Similarly, we reserve the right to close an account creating ads contrary to these objectives. For this reason, if any of your ads have been removed or your ad account has been disabled, we will be unable to reactivate either.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. Please consider this decision final.Best Regards,
Sara
Let me point out something. Sara said: “Sorry that I haven’t been able to respond to your email as I was on leave for the past weeks.”
Can you believe this? It’s not just my case. There may be 100s of cases from the whole world that Sara was dealing with and without informing anyone, she went to leave and that’s not for a week… but for a couple of weeks!
Second thing I want point is this: “Your account was disabled for running misleading ads that resulted in high negative feedback from people on Facebook.”
My goodness, I never ran any misleading ads on Facebook. I know Facebook’s policy very well as I am the Manager of several Facebook accounts (my client’s accounts).
What Sara said was not true at all and I rechecked misleading ads policy to make sure that I didn’t run anything wrong, unconsciously. Here you can see Facebook’s misleading ad policy: https://www.facebook.com/policies/ads/prohibited_content/misleading_or_false_content
I was also looking for some misleading Facebook ads. I believe we can call following ads as “misleading”:
No offense, Shopify is great platform but let’s analyze their Facebook ad. What does “The starting line is here” mean? You can see it under the domain name: www.shopify.com
It seems they forgot to include description for their ads to be honest! It seems like a misleading ad.
Now let’s check 2nd Facebook ad. The first line says: The #1 WP Security Plugin. Well it creates controversy right? No offense, Wordfence is a great security plugin but how did they label it #1 WP security plugin? It’s self claimed, right? I can also tell people that SEO Service Provider is the #1 SEO company in the world!
It also seems like a misleading ad. I never ran any campaigns like Shopify or Wordfence yet Facebook suspended my ad account and mastercard.
As I never ran any misleading ads so I wanted a clarification.
Here is what I sent to Sara:
Sara,
I don’t get it! You provided a generic answer. How did I run misleading ads? I never run any misleading ads which could increase negative feedback from Facebook users. Can you show me some of my specific ads that you consider as “misleading”?
As far as I am concerned last time, I just ran some advertising on perfume products.
Show me those misleading ads so I could avoid such ads in the future.
I was very anxious, 24 hours passed but didn’t get any reply from Sara. Therefore, I sent the following email to Sara:
Hello Sara,
Did you receive my last message? I hope you are not on leave again. Please give me some screenshots of those “misleading” ads of mine for which my ad account and card are suspended. I have absolutely no idea when or how did I run misleading ads!
On November 30th, 2016, I received following email from Sara:
Hi Jewel,
Thank you for your patience in waiting for this reply,I understand that you want to know of the reason why your account has been disabled at the first place.
For the matter, I have yet again requested for the verification as to why.Once I receive any reply, I will get back to you soonest.
Best Regards,
Sara
What would I say after reading this email? I was heartbroken and confused. I didn’t have any clue and I was feeling helpless. I don’t have any alternative credit card either except my Payoneer debit card. I can’t get another Payoneer debit card in USD currency! Payoneer doesn’t offer multiple cards on same currency to any account holder.
With a broken heart, I sent the following email to Sara:
Hi Sara,
Thanks for your reply! I was waiting for your reply. Honestly speaking, I don’t believe I have run any misleading ads. I think it’s a mistake/misunderstanding from Facebook policy team. Generally, when an ad copy has any issue, it first gets rejected. Repeated violations can cause account temporarily suspended. Or if someone is not paying the money that one owes to Facebook for a long time, that account may get restricted.
But it’s really awkward for me that my card is suspended as well as my ad account! It seems like I am a criminal who was trying to sell some drugs or arms and that’s why Facebook policy team suspended my card as well as my ad account at the same time!!! In reality, I didn’t run any ads which would violate Facebook terms. Please check all my previous ad copies and I believe you will understand.
I am really surprised of this act and I am hoping that Facebook will withdraw this restriction from my ad account and card.
