Hello Everyone, This is Ekhlas from SEO Service Provider! In this blog post, I am going to show you something about Copyscape.
Copyscape usually finds content that is copied from another source. If you check their “About Page“, you will understand about Copyscape. Copyscape is basically used by many many people to find out whether their content has copied by someone else or not. This is very important for all SEO experts and specialists because they need to make sure that every content they create for their clients has to have unique value. Recently I have discovered that Copyscape is not working like old days. Here I will give you an example.
I have written an article called: “The Ideas about Decorating Your Kids Room” and this article was *published on Mododivita.tumblr.com! If you check the first or second line of the article in the following image you will see the first line was exactly like this: “If you are thinking about decorating your home, one of the best places to begin could be with your kids room“. You can also check the URL; URL is containing exactly the title “The Ideas about Decorating Your Kids Room“.
*After testing, I deleted that post from mododivita.tumblr.com
I have also published this article on articlelovers.com and you can check the URL & title containing “The Ideas about Decorating Your Kids Room” and the first line “If you are thinking about decorating your home, one of the best places to begin could be with your kid’s room“.
Basically this is the same article I have published in both these websites to identify whether Copyscape is working properly or not and let’s check with the article in Article lovers. First I am going to visit Copyscape.com and put the article URL on the box, and then I am going to hit the “Go” button to find out if it’s been copied or not.
No, it’s not been copied as you can see it’s showing “New! Check articlelovers.com for internal duplicate content and more with Siteliner”. Though the same article is published in tumbler.com, Copyscape.com seems can’t identify this as duplicate content.
So let me now check the tumbler.com article URL with the Copyscape.
and look down what result I have got!
and Voila! No results found for “Mododivita.com – The Ideas about Decorating Your Kids Room“. Both the domains are different and contents are exactly same yet Copyscape is not able to identify this content as copied content! So, there is something wrong with the Copyscape version. I am not sure if you are relying very much on Copyscape! I mean you don’t have to rely on Copyscape because this is not working properly anymore.
Hopefully this blog post of mine will pinch their attention and they will upgrade their algorithm to find out the exact match or your know the copied contents from different sources.
Let me know guys if you are facing the same problem from Copyscape. Thanks for reading and keep me posted.
Check this video. This is the proof!
“New! Check articlelovers.com for internal duplicate content and more with Siteliner.”, is showing you that they have another “New” service called “Siteliner” that can check your website and show you the “internal duplicate content and more”.
You obviously misunderstood that.
It’s really quite clear
What do you mean, Rob? Please explain. Your answer is not clear.
Of course.
The sentence that you pointed out which begins with “New….” etc. has nothing whatsoever to do with the check you just performed.
If you read the entire sentence, it is advertising another product of theirs called ‘Siteliner’ which checks a website and shows any internal duplicate content found.
Rob
I know Rob. The thing I was trying to prove is – the article is not showing any duplicate entries. So I highlighted the New point. Thanks for your comment though 🙂 I have deleted the line that could create confusion to my readers!
